Welcome to Second Bell

Welcome. This is my blog, Second Bell, where I like to say “you’re not late, you’re just in time”.

That’s how I felt once I’d finally understood what was involved with this late-life plan to give up hand gestures all that other stuff and move in to teaching.

Why did I do it?

I will get into that in some detail in future posts, but for now it’s true to say that one reason was because I was fed up feeling like this:

Enough of that kind of thing. Life is too short. Time to remember what it was that I always wanted to do.

What will the site contain

I’m trying to be careful not to get too ambitious too early. For now there will be 2 things: some factual resources to help point the way to those who are considering a similar path, and some opinionated things that I think are helpful to go along with that (sometimes these official guides can be a bit too politely impartial; people in our position need to understnad the implications of some of the available choices, and usually appreciate a clearly stated opinion, if only to give them something to disagree with ;-) )
